Clarks Landing Yacht Sales Raises Over $80k for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Seaside Heights, NJ (September 21, 2019) - This September, thousands of people nationwide joined together in the battle against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases by participating in the St. Jude Walk/Run. Seaside Heights is one of 63 communities across the country helping raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The St. Jude Walk/Run Jersey Shore took place Sept. 21, on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk.
The entire Jersey Shore community was invited to participate in the event, which featured a scenic 5K, family-friendly activities and live entertainment. Participants were encouraged to form teams and raise funds to help support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.
Those among the crowd included Clarks Landing Yacht Sales, annual sponsor of the St. Jude Walk/ Run Jersey Shore, whose efforts through the years have raised over $80,000 in charitable donations for St. Jude. This year, they raised another $7,285 in addition to their $15,000 sponsorship. This was all possible because of Clarks Landing Yacht Sales's generous marina and wedding venue sponsors: Fedway, The Fisherman Magazine, John B Wright Insurance, Kremer Marine, NJ Manufacturers, Nottingham Insurance, Popovitch Builders, The Salty Dog, Sysco, Travelers insurance, and The Mill Lakeside Manor.

Nicole Hoffman, Clarks Landing Yacht Sales Yacht Club Wedding Planner, organizes the event every year in honor of her bride and groom's son, Maxwell, who passed at eight months old from pediatric cancer. "We walk in his honor each year and to support every child who is fighting cancer and their families."
Clarks Landing Yacht Sales Vice President, Michael Longhi, says, "Clarks Landing Yacht Sales is committed to doing our part to strengthen our local community." Their Fish 'N for the Cause campaign has benefited St. Jude and other local organizations like Red Bank-based Lunch Break soup kitchen, which provides food, clothing, life skills coaching and fellowship to those in need." Because of generous donors and events like St. Jude Walk/Run Jersey Shore, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
